Neep is almost 9 months old now and the others are around 8 months old. It feels like they’ve been here for much longer than that!

We adopted 4 ex-commercial hens from British Hen Welfare Trust on Sunday. They’re settling in well so far 🙂 We have them in a separate bit of field while we make sure they are all healthy (well… as healthy as can be expected from an ex-commercial hen) and it gives them, the ducks and the geese a chance to get used to being around each other. Hopefully we’ll be able to merge them into the larger group in a couple of weeks.

They look alert – a few new feathers will make all the diffference. 🙂

I think you’ll find those snack are for Dotty!

Our ladies are settling in well 🙂 did some exploration in the rest or the flock’s yard yesterday which I thought might prompt some flapping over their temporary fence but they don’t seem bothered… There is some new feather growth happening, powered by worm treats XD

We have some goose eggs in the incubator. This one is getting close to hatching 🙂 probably just a few more days now.

Our goose egg hatched 🙂 Here’s a little video of the resulting gosling falling asleep (almost in their food bowl!)
